Finding My Voice Again

After graduating from Evan Hardy high school in 2024, Sam Vasudeva experienced a vocal injury that significantly affected his ability to sing. For approximately a year, the injury prevented him from pursuing music the way he wanted to, temporarily putting his musical ambitions on hold.

Although this unexpected setback delayed his progress as a singer and recording artist, it never diminished his passion for music. After taking the time he needed, Sam has returned to singing and creating music, ready to continue developing his sound and sharing his work with a growing audience.

Now he’s in the studio and pursuing his passion as an independent singer-songwriter, Sam is focused on releasing original music, performing live, and establishing himself within the Canadian alternative pop and bedroom pop scene.

Musical Influences

Sam Vasudeva’s musical identity is shaped by a love for both classic and contemporary music. A longtime fan of Elvis Presley, Sam draws inspiration from the legendary singer’s timeless melodies, expressive vocals, and lasting influence on popular music.

He is also inspired by contemporary pop artists such as Shawn Mendes, whose songwriting and melodic approach have influenced Sam’s appreciation for modern pop music.

With a musical taste that spans the timeless sounds of 1950s and 1960s music alongside today’s latest pop songs, Sam brings together elements of different musical eras in his own creative approach.

As an alternative pop and bedroom pop artist, Sam aims to create music that feels both modern and timeless, combining catchy pop melodies with emotionally driven lyrics and a personal, authentic sound.
